Corporate Christmas
It’s that time of year again. Business owners are beginning to plan their organisation’s Christmas party and staff look forward to loosening their ties and letting their hair down together away from the keyboards and photocopiers. But with a vast number of options available it can be hard to make a final decision. Why not forget the traditional lunches and dinners of corporate Christmases past and opt for a venue with a difference this year, ensuring it’s an event you and your staff will remember for all the right reasons. We have featured options to suit the budget of businesses large and small with any number of staff, including venues catering for over a hundred guests to just three or four. Browse through the options provided quickly and reserve a date for your business before these unique locations are booked out.
Underwater World
At this venue you can actually party under the stars, as you celebrate the end of the year surrounded by an aquarium filled with star fish and other aquatic life. There are many options available at Underwater World depending on the number of guests and atmosphere you choose for your function. If you think you’re going to have trouble deciding between dining with the crocodiles, socialising with the sharks or sipping cocktails between brightly coloured fish and delicate coral formations your decision only gets harder.
Businesses can also choose to view an exclusive night seal show, take a behind the scenes tour to watch the feeding of the marine animals or organise special children’s activities (to give you and your staff a much deserved break) with the Underwater World education officers. However the best option by far would certainly be the shark dives, I’m sure everyone in the office has someone in mind they would like to walk the plank.
To book: contact reservations at Underwater World on 5458 6226 for details on the variety of functions available.
Sunshine Castle
This option is great for small groups looking for some good food and great entertainment. The Sunshine Castle will present their Christmas Feasting Fulle of Funne, a slapstick dinner theatre function. Nights at the castle are packed with crazy characters, plenty of laughs and a spread fit for a king guaranteed to bring out the medieval in you. Guests will enjoy a fire show, belly dancers and even executioners.
The venue is fully licensed and the show begins at 6:30pm finishing around 10pm (times may vary as a result of the interactive nature of the show). If you and your team are especially caught up in the Christmas spirit you can decide to dress as a medieval Santa or Santa’s wenches to receive a special treat and potentially win a prize for the best dressed on the night.
To book: phone the Sunshine Castle on 5448 4477 and reserve your seats.
Suncoast Cable Watersports
Why not team your end of year celebration with some heart racing action? At Suncoast Cable Watersports you have the option of unwinding with your colleagues or winding them up. This location will provide you and your team with an extreme Christmas function that is guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping.

Little Morgue Winery
The name of this quirky venue says it all. Yes it was originally a morgue! Arguably one of the most unusual cellar doors in Australia, the building style is gothic with wrought iron accents throughout. The winery also boasts a viewing platform where coffins used to be hoisted, whilst the lower level cellar is where the bodies were stored complete with toe tags. The Little Morgue Winery also features a terrace and landscaped courtyard including a water fountain.
You and your colleagues will have the opportunity to taste a variety of wine with morgue inspired names such as Dead Smooth, Supreme After Life and Rest in Peace. A variety of dining options are tailor made for your event with handcrafted local wines accompanying your meal. The Little Morgue Winery has the flexibility to suit any budget requirements and has a BYO licence. Assistance with transport and entertainment will be gladly provided if required.
To book: speak to the friendly staff at the Little Morgue Winery staff on 5441 5951.
Steve’s Whale One
Steve’s Whale One is a luxury catamaran that can hold up to 130 guests, whilst it travels the canals of Mooloolaba and the Maroochydore coast line. Aboard this 20 meter floating venue, you and your staff will enjoy 360 degree views whilst making use of comfortable lounges, dining areas and of course the dance floor.
Once your business books its corporate Christmas party the catamaran is for your exclusive use for the entirety of the function. You will have access to the vessels licensed bar as well as an on board entertainment system including LCD displays, MP3 connection, microphone and DVD and CD players.
Friendly, professional staff will be on hand to ensure you and your staff are having a great time. There are a number of catering options available to suit all budgets and team aboard Steve’s Whale One will provide your guests with complimentary tea and coffee.
If the tempting combination of luxury and sea still leave you undecided, the fact that all proceeds raised go back to animal conservation might sway you.
