Chilli is proud to welcome marketing guru Sandra de Jesus to the team! Years of industry experience at world renowned multinational corporations such as BMW, Reebok and Pepsi has led her to become an expert in the field of marketing.
In April 2007 Sandra’s outgoing attitude and adventurous personality saw her leaving life as she knew it in Europe and jet setting half way around the world to the Sunshine Coast. It is this ambitious nature that has seen her secure highly contested jobs in the competitive world of marketing.
Canadian born Sandra established her successful career at BMW Group headquarters in Germany, joining the MINI launch team in 1998 following the completion of her studies in Canada and France. On the lookout for young, international people, BMW recruited Sandra to launch the New MINI.
“Being at the Global BMW headquarters was the best experience I could have hoped for because everything is expected to be done to perfection,” said Sandra. “The greatest challenge was to be consistent with the world brand perception whilst adapting to the needs of each country.”
After securing the position of Global MINI sponsorship and product placements manager, and directing high profile projects such as the global MTV Partnership and placement in the blockbuster film The Italian Job, Sandra left BMW to become UK and Ireland marketing manager at PepsiCo Group.
At Pepsi she led the relaunch of Pepsi Max and oversaw marketing for the organisations Better for You Brands, which refers to healthier products in the range such as Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max. Leaving PepsiCo and a sixteen million pound marketing budget, Sandra adopted the role of European marketing manager for Reebok. At Reebok she oversaw the marketing of the brands sports division where she became an expert in women’s marketing.
“Working at Reebok gave me a huge insight into the sports and retail industry as well as how to market to women,” said Sandra.
During her time with Reebok Sandra also worked on the organisations partnership with the American National Football League (NFL) to create awareness of NFL in Europe. As a result several NFL teams from the States played an in season game at Wembley Stadium in England for the first time in the history of the sport. Then in 2007 after years of living out of a suitcase Sandra followed her passion all the way to Australia rejoining BMW Group.
“I moved to Australia for the lifestyle and to continue doing what I love, marketing” said Sandra.
After working for Coastline BMW for a year and a half as marketing and corporate sales manager, Sandra was transferred to Brisbane where she became head of marketing for Brisbane BMW, Westside BMW, Brisbane MINI Garage and the Brisbane Prestige Group (Saab, Hummer, Skoda, Citroen and Cadillac). Rising to the challenge Sandra used her marketing prowess to understand the needs of the Australian market through the economic downturn, developing innovative marketing tools.
“At first I was spending approximately 70% of my budget in print advertising, however towards the end I used a much more varied mix of media and a wider variety of marketing tools for a more targeted approach,” Said Sandra.
Now back on the Sunshine Coast as the new business development manager at Chilli, Sandra is focused on providing local and national businesses with invaluable marketing solutions. After several years of varied experience in the field, and extensive marketing knowledge across various industries Sandra can help businesses unlock their potential.
“I am excited to be based on the Sunshine Coast and be backed up by a great agency like Chilli who have strong strategic and creative teams,” said Sandra.
Sandra’s international experience in Europe as well as her fluency in five languages; French, German, Portuguese, Spanish and, of course, English has enabled her to grasp a greater insight into different marketing environments and cultures. Sandra brings her worldwide contacts to the Sunshine Coast allowing her to help businesses market their products and services on a local, national and international scale.
Sandra identifies opportunities, analyses market trends and provides marketing solutions to help grow your business. Using an innovative mix of important marketing tools Sandra gets results every time. This is why she is a valuable member of the Chilli team who are excited to have her on board.
Sandra de Jesus is the woman you would want in your corner, Chilli is proud to have her in theirs. Come and visit Sandra at Chilli for expert advice and valuable insight into the industry or call on 5437 7788.
